How to watch Jackson Holliday, Cade Horton at inaugural MLB Spring Breakout Series

The inaugural MLB Spring Breakout Series is set for Thursday through Sunday at spring training stadiums in Arizona and Florida.

The series, which features 16 games, will include the top prospects from each team. Several players with Oklahoma ties are set to play in it, most notably Jackson Holliday and Cade Horton.

A Stillwater graduate, Holliday — a middle infielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization — is the top prospect in baseball and was the No. 1 pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.

He set a national record for hits in a season during his senior year at Stillwater with 89. The previous record was 88 and set in 2010 by Philadelphia Phillies catcher and former Carl Albert star JT Realmuto.

Horton, a former Norman and OU star, is the No. 26 prospect in baseball.

A right-handed pitcher, he was selected by the Chicago Cubs with the seventh pick in the 2022 draft shortly after helping the Sooners reach the Men’s College World Series championship during his redshirt freshman season.

Here is how to watch the MLB Spring Breakout Series and a list of players with Oklahoma ties who made rosters.

Why Jackson Jobe isn't playing at the MLB Spring Breakout Series

The former Heritage Hall star, who was drafted by the Detroit Tigers with the third pick in the 2021 draft, pitched Tuesday and therefore will not play at the MLB Spring Breakout Series.

Although he won't pitch in the series, Jobe's future looks bright.
