Oklahoma State baseball: Get to know the 2024 OSU Cowboys roster, schedule
STILLWATER — Though Oklahoma State faced an amount of turnover similar to what most college baseball programs see these days, coach Josh Holliday’s program has a few cornerstone players to build around in his lineup.
The pitching staff is a different story, and Holliday will begin the journey to sorting that out when the season begins with a three-game series at Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. The opener is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by games at 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Pitchers
Ryan Bogusz
Redshirt senior, Frisco, Texas: The veteran right-hander has been limited by injuries in his career, but was strong in 17 ⅓ innings last season, posting a 2.60 ERA primarily in relief.
Drew Blake
Redshirt sophomore, Stillwater: The left-hander seems likely for a big role coming off a freshman season in which he had a 5.64 ERA over a team-high 28 appearances, including two starts.
Evan O’Toole
Senior, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada: The right-hander had the most wins of any returner, posting a 6-1 record and 4.99 ERA last season
Brian Holiday
Junior, Tampa, Florida: A transfer from Central Florida Junior College, Holiday should contend for a major role, whether as a starter or high-leverage reliever.
Sam Garcia
Senior, Wilmington, North Carolina: A left-handed transfer from High Point, Garcia could contend for a spot in the weekend rotation.
Janzen Keisel
Junior, Gunnison, Utah: The 6-foot-4 righty struck out 34 hitters in 18 ⅓ innings, making four starts among his nine appearances last season.

Gabe Davis
Sophomore, Choctaw: The 6-foot-9 righty made 22 appearances last year, striking out 40 batters in 25 innings.
Ryan Ure
Redshirt sophomore, Eaton, Colorado: The 6-foot-8 lefty is coming off a redshirt year to recover from Tommy John surgery, but looks positioned for an important role.
Dominick Reid
Sophomore, Little Elm, Texas: Another young, developing arm, Reid had a 2.25 ERA over four innings last season.
Robert Cranz
Junior, Keller, Texas: Coming in from Wichita State, Cranz has the type of arm that could fit in a late-inning role.
Brennan Phillips
Sophomore, Owasso: In line for a second-year jump after working 26 innings last season, split between six starts and four relief appearances.
Bryson Hudgens
Redshirt senior, Argyle, Texas: A veteran righty, Hudgens pitched just 16 innings last season at McNeese State after recovering from Tommy John surgery, but has posted good numbers when healthy.
Weston Rouse
Freshman, Fort Gibson: A 6-foot-6 left-hander has a chance to see some meaningful innings this season.
Kyle Bade
Freshman, Plano, Texas: Bade is another lefty in the freshman class who will have an opportunity to contribute.
Riley Taylor
Redshirt senior, Haslet, Texas: A super-senior, Taylor made his first career appearance against TCU in the championship game of the Big 12 Tournament last May.

Catchers
Ian Daugherty
Junior, Kingfisher: Daugherty was in the primary platoon until getting hurt last season, finishing with a .235 batting average and a pair of doubles over 17 at-bats.
Beau Sylvester
Sophomore, Kailua, Hawaii: A versatile player who can be used in the outfield and at first base in addition to splitting time with Daugherty behind the plate.
Charlie Carter
Freshman, Little Rock, Arkansas: Carter provides some catching depth.

Infielders
Colin Brueggemann
Junior, Smithton, Illinois: Saw time in the outfield and as the designated hitter last season, in addition to his work at first base, where he is expected to be the regular starter this year.
Aidan Meola
Junior, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida: The likely starting second baseman battled back from a thumb injury last season, and was strong when healthy, batting .330 with four home runs and 18 RBIs over 88 at-bats.
Lane Forsythe
Senior, Jackson, Tennessee: The Mississippi State transfer is best known for his glove work up the middle, with the capability of stepping in at shortstop.
Tyler Wulfert
Senior, Farmington, New Mexico: Took over at third base midway through last season, finishing with a .327 batting average, nine homers and 34 RBIs.
Cole Johnson
Freshman, Austin, Texas: A 6-foot-5 first base prospect, Johnson batted over .450 in his final two years at Lake Travis High School.
Avery Ortiz
Freshman, Tulsa Union: Ortiz presents both power and speed.

Kyler Proctor
Freshman, Silo: Proctor hit a walk-off home run at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark to win the state championship game in the fall 2021 season.
Kolin Ritchie
Freshman, Atoka: The left-handed hitting freshman can provide depth in the infield or outfield.
Addison Smith
Freshman, Liberty, Missouri: The switch-hitter was a three-time Missouri All-State selection at Liberty High School.
Outfielders
Carson Benge
Redshirt sophomore, Yukon: The regular right fielder, Benge batted a team-best .345 with seven home runs, 17 doubles and 43 RBIs last season, and will also provide a boost to the pitching rotation, where he made 10 starts last season.
Zach Ehrhard
Junior, Tampa, Florida: Dealt with injuries, but made 32 starts as the leadoff hitter and center fielder, posting a .379 on-base percentage with 11 stolen bases in 11 tries.
Nolan Schubart
Sophomore, Durand, Michigan: Returning to his left field spot, where he appeared in all 61 games last season, Schubart will once again anchor the middle of the order after batting .338 with 17 home runs and a team-high 74 RBIs.
Jaxson Crull
Senior, Bixby: A regularly used reserve, the left-handed hitting Crull appeared in 45 games, making nine starts, and should be in a similar role again this season.
Max Galvin
Junior, Coral Gables, Florida: Galvin is a transfer from Miami (Florida) Dade College, where he batted .400 with 26 extra-base hits in 51 games last season.
Donovan LaSalle
Freshman, Lake Charles, Louisiana: LaSalle was the Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Year as a senior at Barbe High School last year after batting .510 with 10 home runs, 43 RBIs and 33 stolen bases.
Austin Lemon
Freshman, Oklahoma City: Lemon batted .570 with 18 extra-base hits and 21 steals as a senior at Heritage Hall High School last season.
