CLEVELAND — The Guardians produced their second defensive highlight of Game 2 of the American League Division Series when All-Star left fielder Steven Kwan robbed the Detroit Tigers' Wenceel Perez of a would-be clutch hit in the eighth inning Monday at Progressive Field.

With runners on first and second base and two outs, Perez hit a line drive off Guardians closer Emmanuel Clase. But Kwan charged the ball and made a diving catch.

The Tigers challenged the ultra-close play, but it stood after a replay review. A scoreless tie remained status quo entering the ninth inning.

Rookie right fielder Jhonkensy Noel had the Guardians' other defensive highlight when he threw out a baserunner in the fifth inning.
