Watch: Florida State kicker Ryan Fitzgerald boots 59-yard field goal to tie game at half
Ryan Fitzgerald looks to have a case of "the luck of the Irish," and Florida State football is surely happy to be on the receiving end of it.
Trailing 14-11 in the final seconds of the first half vs. Georgia Tech in Saturday's Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Florida State looked to be heading into halftime with a deficit.
That was until Fitzgerald, who two years ago was struggling to keep his spot on the roster, showed off his leg as he hit a new career-long 59-yard field goal to tie the game and cap off a back-and-forth first half between both ACC programs. His previous career long was 53 yards back in 2021. Fitzgerald also hit a 52-yarder earlier in the half.
