It is time to vote for the girls athlete of the week from the Tuscaloosa area for the week of Jan. 22-26. The vote will remain open until Thursday at noon.
All five nominees come from performances last week. All sports are considered when picking nominees, as long as the athlete was on The Tuscaloosa News' top performer list from the week before.
In alphabetical order, the nominees are:
Amelia Arsenault, The Homeschool Educators, scored 19 points to go with six rebounds and three assists in a 36-33 win over Southern Chrisitan. Arsenault also had a game-winning 3-pointer.
Adrienne Hunt, Paul W. Bryant, scored 22 points to go with 12 rebounds in the 54-30 win over Sipsey Valley.
Carly King, Tuscaloosa Academy, scored 15 points in a 47-44 win over Greene County.
Tremyah Washington, Northridge, put up her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in a 53-51 overtime win vs. Paul W. Bryant.
Ella Wheeler, Sulligent, put up 20 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 51-23 win over Winston County.
