Updating Texas rankings in college football polls following Michigan win
A 31-12 domination of Michigan pushed Texas football up in at least one one of the major polls for a second consecutive week.
Steve Sarkisian's Longhorns leapfrogged Ohio State — which blew out Western Michigan — to move up to No. 2 in the new AP Poll released on Sunday. In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Texas remained at No. 3.
The Longhorns received four first-place votes in the AP Poll, where they still trail Georgia. One voter in the coaches poll put them at No. 1.
