Tyler Reddick car damaged after minor crash with Denny Hamlin at Charlotte Roval

Tyler Reddick, the NASCAR Cup series 2024 regular season champion, exited the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte on Sunday after he pulled into the pits following a minor crash.

Reddick said on his radio his car wasn't running after what appeared to only be minor damage on the front right after the contact, which came on turn 7 of lap 30. Reddick was run up into the turtles while making contact with Denny Hamlin, who co-owns his 23XI Racing No. 45 Toyota with former NBA star Michael Jordan.

Hamlin also appeared to have a bent left-rear tow link. Reddick eventually got back on the track.

The incident could hurt Reddick's hopes of making the playoff cut in the top eight. He came into the race in seventh place and nine points behind Ryan Blaney. Hamlin was fourth in the playoff standings.

Kyle Larson was the leading the race at the time of the incident.
