Two Royals pitchers leave game early with injuries vs. Cubs
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two Kansas City Royals pitchers had to leave the game early against the Chicago Cubs on Sunday.
Right-handed relief pitcher John Schreiber had to leave the game before the beginning of the 7th inning due to right knee patella tendon discomfort.

In his place, newly acquired Royals relief pitcher Hunter Harvey started out the inning. But he exited the game after getting two outs in the 7th with lower back spasms.
He was replaced by Angel Zerpa, who got the final out of the inning. The extent of the injuries for both pitchers is currently unknown.
The Royals would go on to lose the game, 7-3, dropping the series to the Cubs. They finished their nine-game homestand 5-4 but lost three of the last four.

Next up, the Royals will head to Chicago to face the White Sox for the final time this season in a three-game series starting tomorrow at 7:10 p.m.
They currently hold the third Wild Card spot in the AL at 57-48.
