Twitter reactions to the Dolphins' selection of Chop Robinson with No. 21 pick
The Miami Dolphins selected edge rusher Chop Robinson with the 21st pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Robinson, an All-Big Ten first teamer, tallied 9.5 sacks in his last two years for the Nittany Lions.
With seven teams taking players that fit the Dolphins' needs right before Miami's pick, there were calls on social media to trade the pick down for solid players still available in round two.
The Trade back value is there for the Miami Dolphins. Could be wise to get some more picks.....just saying.

Chop Robinson doesn’t move me at all man should’ve traded down at that point

But general manager Chris Grier elected to keep the pick, and as is true for most front-office decisions, fans are split.
Robinson has the tools to be an impact starter, and adds even more talent to an already explosive position group. Some Fin Faithful see the upside in reaching for Robinson.
Good pick, even though I would have chosen JPJ because they really need a center. However, it makes sense given the many injuries they’ve had in the pass rush.

Jaelan Phillips, Bradley Chubb, Shaq Barrett, & Chop Robinson.
No Offensive Line is stopping that Rotation. #Dolphins #GoFins #NFLDraft— Tyler Arcia (@FinsOfTheEMPIRE) April 26, 2024
On the other hand, Robinson had just four sacks last season, with two coming against a Massachusetts team that finished the season 3-9. Some say his metrics don't reflect the caliber of player typically taken in the first round.
The pick has other fans wondering if Grier's selection was a reach for the 21st pick, especially considering the need for talent on the offensive line.
Hate the pick. Project pass rusher when we are in a win now window and need starting OLineman is a mistake. He may pan out, but project edge rushers have such high bust rates.

So in other words, he wasn’t that productive in college so let’s reach for him in the first round. Team was desperate for O-Line and more picks. They got neither.
And you wonder why this team hasn’t won a playoff game in almost 3 decades. 🙄— Dolphins Dude (@GambleMetrics) April 26, 2024
Chop Robinson had 4 sacks in 2023...... 2 of them came vs. Massachusetts. This might be griers worst pick ever over igbenoghane.
Should have traded up for verse or traded out for more picks

Tua Tagovailoa's trainer, Nick Hicks, shared his thoughts on the front office using the pick to bolster the defense over improving an offensive line that needs help.

PLEASE let me be clear. Chop is a dawg and is going to ball. I just don’t know why protecting the QB isn’t top priority.
