Tua Tagovailoa ruled out after suffering concussion in second half against Buffalo Bills

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was on the ground for several minutes after running into Bills safety Damar Hamlin and left the game late in the third quarter of Miami's 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium.

Tagovailoa was ruled out for the remainder of the game with a concussion after walking to the locker room with trainers. Tagovailoa was diagnosed with two concussions in the 2022 season, and also suffered a third injury that was suspected to be head trauma.

While on the ground, Tagovailoa appeared to go into the fencing response, an involuntary posture that can occur after a concussion. This also happened two years ago when Tagovailoa suffered a concussion at Cincinnati and had to carried off the field by a stretcher before being taken to the hospital. He was released and returned to Miami with the team.

Later in the year, Tagovialoa was diagnosed with his second concussion during the Christmas Day game against the Packers.

Tagovailoa conceded he briefly considered retiring after the 2022 season.,
