Top performers: See who dominated in high school sports in the Tuscaloosa area

Here are the Tuscaloosa area top performers from the week of Feb. 5-Feb. 9, from high school basketball, tennis and soccer.

Boys basketball

American Christian Academy's Davis Dare scored 18 points to go with eight assists in a 61-36 victory over Northside in the Class 4A, Area 7 tournament.

American Christian Academy's Samuel Holt added 14 points, Eric Hines added 12 and JM Allen added 10.

American Christian Academy's Davis Dare and Eric Hines each put up 14 points in a 64-55 win over Hale County to win the Class 4A, Area 7 championship. Dare was named the area tournament's MVP.

American Christian Academy's Samuel Holt and Hunter Bates each scored 10 points.

Central's Javion Taylor was named to the Class 6A, Area 6 all-tournament team.

Hillcrest's DJ Hamlett was named to the Class 6A, Area 6 all-tournament team.

Holy Spirit's CJ Thompson scored 15 points in a 71-55 loss to Pickens County in the Class 1A, Area 9 tournament.

Holy Spirit's Walden Baker added 14 points and Ethan Ryan added 10.

Northridge's John Walker and Jordan Suiter each scored 14 points in a 58-41 victory over Hillcrest in the Class 6A, Area 6 tournament. Each were named to the all-tournament team.

Northridge's Jonas Wilkin added 11 points and Anderson Wilkin added 10.

Paul W. Bryant's Adrian Wooley scored 29 points in a 79-50 win over Northridge to win the Class 6A, Area 6 tournament, where Wooley was named MVP.

Paul W. Bryant's Jaykob Johnson and Marchello Perkins were named to the Class 6A, Area 6 all-tournament team.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Ellis Hamiter scored 20 points to go with five assists and four steals in a 54-43 victory over Aliceville in the Class 2A, Area 5 tournament.

Tuscaloosa Academy's William Mullin added 16 points and Danilo Stojakovic added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Tuscaloosa County's Jackson Moore scored 19 points in a 46-32 loss to Hoover in the Class 7A, Area 5 tournament.

Tuscaloosa County's Sheldrick McNeal Jr. added 11 points and was named to the Class 7A, Area 5 all-tournament team.

Girls basketball

Hillcrest's Trinity Braggs led the Lady Patriots with 18 points in a 60-22 victory over Central in the Class 6A, Area 6 tournament.

Hillcrest's Angel Shelton, Bri Turner and Farrah Buckner each added eight points.

Hillcrest's Sinaya Gibson led the team with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 47-14 win over Briarwood Christian in the sub-regional round, advancing the Lady Patriots to regionals.

Hillcrest's Ny Davis and Bri Turner added seven points each.

Holy Spirit's Izzy Burrows scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds, nine steals and five assists in a 52-11 victory over Pickens County in the Class 1A, Area 9 tournament.

Holy Spirit's Genesis Lee added 14 points and MC Taylor added eight.

Holy Spirit's Izzy Burrows scored 22 points to go with eight rebounds, five steals and three assists in a 52-37 victory over Berry to claim the Class 1A, Area 9 championship, where Burrows was named tournament MVP.

Holy Spirit's Bailey Mclaurine added nine points with six rebounds and Genesis Lee added seven to go with seven rebounds.

Holy Spirit's Bailey Mclaurine, Genesis Lee, Layla Hassan and MC Taylor were each named to the Class 1A, Area 9 all-tournament team.

Holy Spirit's Layla Hassan and Genesis Lee each scored 11 points in a 51-41 loss to Autaugaville in the Class 1A sub-regionals, as the Lady Saints saw their season come to an end.

Northridge's Jakeya Horton put up 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 41-37 victory over Paul W. Bryant in the Class 6A, Area 6 tournament.

Northridge's Taylor Ivory added nine points.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Carly King put up 14 points in a 45-43 victory over Greene County in the Class 2A, Area 5 tournament.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Annmarie Henderson added 10 points, Lily Lucas nine and Ella Williams eight.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Carly King led the team with 21 points in a 42-36 win over Francis Marion where the Lady Knights secured the Class 2A, Area 5 championship.

Tuscaloosa Academy's Anna Christian Beeker added eight points, and Ella Williams six.

CENTRAL WRESTLING: Central wrestling program making strides in its first year

Boys soccer

Northside's Eder Miranda scored three goals in a 5-1 victory over Paul W. Bryant and Levi Jimenez scored two.

Girls soccer

Northridge's Sophie Maxwell scored two goals in a 6-2 victory over defending Class 5A state champion Springville.

Northridge's Kenley Myers, Ella Johnson, Mary Carson James and Lilee Becker each scored one goal each.

Northridge's Mary Carson James had two assists, while Kiley Brewer, Kenley Myers and Emma Sanderford recorded one assist each.

Tuscaloosa County's Allee Hathcock scored the opening goal in a 3-1 victory over McAdory, while Peyton Culbertson added the second goal and Alessandra Vasquez scored the final goal.

Tuscaloosa County goalkeeper Izzy Lyons recorded two saves.
