Texas Tech football starting defensive back out for season opener with injury

Starting cornerback Bralyn Lux will miss the Texas Tech football team's 2024 season opener against Abilene Christian, the team announced.

The team released an updated injury report 45 minutes before kickoff against the Wildcats in Jones AT&T Stadium. Lux is listed out with a thigh injury.

Other Red Raiders listed out for the game include outside linebackers Dylan Spencer (out for the season; knee), Charles Esters III (thigh) and Joseph Adedire (knee) and defensive back Javeon Wilcox (knee). Defensive tackle Quincy Ledet Jr. was listed on Monday's availability report as questionable but is expected to play tonight.
