Tennessee Titans mock draft roundup: 36 NFL experts predict who GM Ran Carthon will pick
It has reached the point in the buildup to the 2024 NFL Draft that there isn't much diversity of opinion left when it comes to predicting who the Tennessee Titans are going to pick at No. 7.
Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt is the favored projection in mock drafts from the media experts. There's still a bit of dissent from prognosticators who believe the Titans could lean toward picking a wide receiver or edge rusher, or who think the Titans could end up picking a different lineman if Alt is gone before No. 7.
But for the most part, mock drafters ranging from ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. to those of just about every other outlet that covers sports believe the Titans are leaning Alt.
Here's a roundup of what 36 mock drafts foresee the Titans doing in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Joe Alt: Will Tennessee Titans pick top offensive tackle?
A whopping 30 of 36 mock drafts surveyed have the Titans picking Alt. The rationale here is simple: Alt was a unanimous All-American, graded as the best offensive lineman in college football last year. And he's a physical marvel with great size (6-foot-9, 321 pounds) who tested well and sits as the consensus top lineman in this year's draft class.
The Titans' need for a left tackle is as serious as any team's need for any position in the NFL right now. The general opinion is there isn't a team picking ahead of the Titans that lists left tackle as its top need, and only the Chargers, picking at No. 5, feel like a real threat to pick Alt and play him on the right side. For the Titans, it's an easy marriage of need, skill, fit and timing.

Who are other Titans offensive line prospects? Olu Fashanu and JC Latham
This draft class has the luxury of being both deep and strong at the top at tackle. That means if the Titans can't or don't want to pick Alt at No. 7, Penn State's Olu Fashanu and Alabama's JC Latham should still be around.
Fashanu was a consensus All-American last year and is a naturally gifted pass protector in line with Alt, although he might be a little more raw as a run blocker. And Latham is a definite talent, but he has more experience as a right tackle.

Who are Titans receiver targets? Malik Nabers and Rome Odunze
Even after adding Calvin Ridley to play alongside DeAndre Hopkins and former first-round pick Treylon Burks, the Titans still need youth and playmaking ability at receiver. Ohio State standout Marvin Harrison Jr. is likely to be out of reach at No. 7, but LSU big-play threat Malik Nabers and Washington showstopper Rome Odunze still could be around. They would have two tremendous mentors to help them develop into No. 1 talents, and both would be on the fast track to doing so within a year or two.

Is defense an option for Titans? The case for Dallas Turner
As big as the Titans' needs on offense are, they also need help on defense, particularly in the front seven when it comes to rushing the passer.
That's where Dallas Turner, the Alabama product who was a terror off the edge for three years in the SEC, can come in. He's the favorite to be the first defensive player picked this year and could represent the next generation of Titans edge defenders behind Harold Landry and Arden Key.
