Get to know Brian Johnson
Johnson has coached with the Philadelphia Eagles since 2021 but has only been offensive coordinator for one season following the departure of Shane Steichen to be head coach of the Indianapolis Colts last offseason. Johnson's Eagles offense ranked 12th in the NFL in scoring and 14th in total offense this season.
He'd spent the previous two years as the Eagle's quarterbacks coach, overseeing the development of young passer Jalen Hurts. Prior to that, Johnson coached quarterbacks and coordinated offenses at the college level at schools such as Utah, Mississippi State, Houston and Florida. A college quarterback himself, Johnson was a three-year starter who led the team to an undefeated season his final year of college.
The Eagles struggled through the second half of the 2023 season, averaging just 20.5 points per game in their final six contests after scoring 28.1 points per game in the first 11.
About the Tennessee Titans coaching search
Per NFL rules, the Titans may only conduct virtual interviews with all coaching candidates employed by another organization until the end of the second round of the NFL playoffs. The Titans are free to interview any candidate not currently employed by an NFL organization at any time and have been able to conduct virtual interviews with employees of teams that missed the postseason since three days after the completion of the regular season. The team will be allowed to conduct virtual interviews with coaches on teams that made the playoffs three days after their first playoff game ends.
