How new Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan introduced himself to Nashville Predators
New Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan was introduced to Nashville last week at St. Thomas Sports Complex.
On Wednesday night, Callahan was introduced to the Nashville Predators.
The coach stood in the Predators' locker room before the game and read the team's starting lineup before its faced the Los Angeles Kings.
Callahan, son of longtime NFL coach Bill Callahan, was hired last week to take over for Mike Vrabel, who was fired Jan. 9. The Callahans will be the seventh father-son duo to be a head coach in the NFL.
Callahan wasn't the only football coach in attendance at Bridgestone Arena. Vanderbilt coach Clark Lea was seen sitting next to Callahan, who wore a gold Predators sweater.
The Predators entered the game in a three-way tie atop the Western Conference wild-card standings with the Kings and the St. Louis Blues. Each team had 54 points.
The 39-year-old Callahan is in his first head coaching position. He spent the last five years as the Cincinnati Bengals' offensive coordinator. He is charged with trying to turn around a Titans team that has just six victories in its last 24 games.
“I couldn’t be more excited for our city and the Titans organization,” Vanderbilt football coach Clark Lea told The Tennessean last week. “They have selected an excellent coach and an even better person.”
