Tennessee Titans coach Bill Callahan not expecting issues with rookie DL T'Vondre Sweat practicing
Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday during the opening news conference that rookie defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat should be ready to go for training camp.
Sweat, the Titans' second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was absent from most of Titans minicamp in June. The reasons for Sweat missing minicamp were not made clear, though Callahan stated Sweat "was working, just not on the field."
Despite missing time in minicamp, Callahan said Sweat should be ready for training camp, which begins officially on Wednesday, July 24.
"I don't expect any issues as we get started," Callahan said. "He should be dressed, practicing, and ready to play football."
The 6-foot-4, 366 pound defensive tackle out of Texas won the Outland Trophy last season, given to the nation's top defensive line. He record 45 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two sacks for the Longhorns during his senior season.
Sweat joins a defensive line that includes All Pro Jeffrey Simmons as well as Marlon Davidson, Sebastian Joseph-Day, and Keondre Coburn.
