The Lightning's latest round of cuts saw nine players re-assigned to the minors or to their junior team.

Those assigned to Syracuse includes Declan Carlile, Dylan Duke, Gage Goncalves, Maxim Groshev, Steven Santini, Gabriel Szturc, Matt Tomkins and Jesse Ylonen while Ethan Gauthier was assigned to Drummondville (QMJHL).

Carlile, Duke, Goncalves, Groshev, Szturc and Tomkins all spent time with the Crunch in 2023-24 and will likely play big roles for the team this season.

Although Santini and Ylonen are considered newcomers to the team, Santini was a reliable defender for the Ontario Reign last year and Ylonen spent the entire season with the Montreal Canadiens. Both should bolster the Crunch right out of the gates.

The Crunch open their season on Friday, Oct. 11 when they take on the Utica Comets.
