Struggling Memphis Grizzlies flexed out of 2 national TV games, team announces

A pair of Memphis Grizzlies games next month will no longer be nationally televised.

The team announced Monday that the Feb. 1 game at home against the Cavaliers will move to a 7 p.m. start time and will be televised on Bally Sports Southeast. It had been slated for a 9 p.m. tip on TNT.

Memphis' Feb. 4 game at Boston will no longer be on ESPN, but will still be on Bally Sports Southeast. That was slated to be Marcus Smart's first game in Boston against his former team, but he's out with a finger injury.

The Grizzlies are dealing with an injury crisis that has left them without most of their rotation players. Ja Morant and Steven Adams are out for the season, while Desmond Bane and Smart will be out for extended periods of time. Brandon Clarke is still recovering from an Achilles injury suffered last season. Derrick Rose and Jake LaRavia have also been out for the recent stretch.

So it's no surprise they're getting moved out of national TV games. Memphis is scheduled to play five times on ESPN, once on TNT and twice on NBA TV the rest of the season.

The Grizzlies (15-27) are back in action Monday night against the Toronto Raptors.
