Steph Curry wants Warriors to stay focused despite trade deadline
The February 8 trade deadline is just days away. Following a difficult season thus far, the Golden State Warriors are rumored to be exploring options to potentially upgrade their roster ahead of the second half of the season. However, those rumors have yet to produce anything tangible.
As such, Steph Curry wants his teammates to remain focused. When speaking to the media following Golden State’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday (Feb. 3) Curry stressed that the team’s job is to perform, and adjustments can be made should the situation change in the coming days.
“Until it’s said otherwise or decisions are made, it’s up to us to go out and perform and hold our ground as a legitimate team that can win,” Curry said. “If you’re not, then you approach things differently when the opportunity presents itself.”
The Warriors have multiple tradeable assets at their disposal. However, some of the more prominently discussed assets have begun to show their value to the rotation. Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins are forming a stern partnership in a new-look frontcourt alongside Draymond Green, which has likely derailed any potential trade plans involving either forward.

Golden State may choose to make a move on the fringes or potentially wait to see what happens with the buy-out market. There’s also a chance they stand pat and reassess the season during the summer. Whatever they choose, Curry will likely expect his teammates to remain locked in on the task at hand, which right now is climbing the Western Conference standings and proving they’re a championship contender.
