Steelers spoil Diontae Johnson's lackluster return to Pittsburgh
Is the inconsistent and dramatic rollercoaster of Diontae Johnson's NFL career coming to a screeching halt? After being traded to the Carolina Panthers in the 2024 offseason, it seemed as if both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Johnson were looking forward to bigger and brighter futures. Pittsburgh gained some much-needed cornerback depth in Donte Jackson, while Johnson became the number one receiving option for the Panthers.
However, Johnson was later traded to the Baltimore Ravens, where he saw little to no involvement. In his first two games with the Ravens, Weeks 9 and 10, Johnson caught only one pass for six yards on two targets. In his revenge game, the Week 11 contest between the Ravens and Steelers, Pittsburgh completely shut Johnson out of Baltimore's game plan.
Johnson has previously hinted at his displeasure with his involvement in the Ravens' offense on social media, and it remains to be seen how the former Steelers WR will respond to the Ravens' Week 11 loss to Pittsburgh.
