Stadium construction to impact pedestrian flow for Missouri football games. What to expect

Turns out $250 million worth of upgrades take up some space.

Missouri athletics announced Monday afternoon in a news release that preliminary work has started on the approved renovations to the north concourse of Memorial Stadium, the home of Missouri football, and that fans should expect “limited pedestrian flow” around the northeast corner of the stadium moving forward this season.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the project is set for Nov. 30, the final day of the regular season. The final product is expected to be completed ahead of the 2026 season.

But the impacts of the upgrades will affect fans as soon as this upcoming Saturday, when Missouri hosts Auburn for its homecoming game. The all-Tiger matchup is set to kick off at 11 a.m. on Faurot Field, where there is expected to be a sold out crowd.

How to enter Missouri football’s Memorial Stadium for rest of 2024

For easier, unimpeded entrance to Memorial Stadium, Missouri athletics has encouraged the following guidelines for entry to the stadium.

If fans are walking to the stadium from Lot C, Lot D, Lot G, Lot H, Lot Q, Lot R, Lot T, Lot U, Lot Y or Truman’s Landing, they are encouraged to enter the stadium through the gates on the west side (Gates 2W to 6W). That is the same side of the stadium as Providence Rd.

If fans are walking to the stadium from Lot I, Lot J, Lot K, Lot M, Lot N, Lot O, Lot P or Lot M-ADA, they are encouraged to enter the stadium through the gates on the east side of the stadium (Gates 2E to 6E). That is the same side that runs parallel to Mick Deaver Drive and is on the same side of the athletics complex as the Hearnes Center.

Any fans arriving at the stadium from downtown Columbia, the university campus or Lot L, Lot W, Lot X, Lot B-ADA, TAPS or PS7, should cross Stadium Blvd. at the intersection and crosswalk to Mick Deaver Drive. Fans are asked not to use the underground tunnel that adjoins campus to the stadium. Fans approaching the stadium from the north are asked to enter between Gates 2W to 6W.
