Having grown his game season by season, leading St. Elizabeth to the top seed in the DIAA boys basketball tournament, Aiden Tobiason has been named Delaware's Player of the Year and leads the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcasters Association’s All-State boys basketball team.
Tobiason averaged 18.7 points in three tournament games (St. Elizabeth lost to Salesianum in the semifinals). His silky smooth jump shot, movement off the ball and length defending passing lanes helped the Vikings to a 19-1 regular-season record.
"There were games where I was face-guarded last year and it really got to me," Tobiason said. "Last year helped me prepare for this year. I just know that the game will come to me as long as I let my teammates play and we just keep playing together. I know that even when they're face-guarding me and really getting under my skin, I just have to stay composed."
Tobiason is joined on this year's first team by William Penn senior Jaylin Horsey, Dover seniors Dorell Little and Denim Perkins and Salesianum senior Kareem Thomas.
The second team consists of Salesianum seniors Justin Hinds and Isaiah Hynson, Sanford junior Jayden Taylor, Seaford senior Kashmier Wise and St. Elizabeth senior Julius Wright.
Middletown senior Aviyon Matthews, Lake Forest junior Darius Miller, Saint Mark's sophomore Alassan N'Diaye, Saint Georges senior Blair Thomas and William Penn senior Emmanuel Vonhm are on the third team.
The team is determined through the combined voting of the state’s head coaches and media members who frequently cover Delaware high school basketball.

C.J. Gardner-Johnson made it clear the NFC East runs through Philly, which looks like the case this season even if it hasn't always been the case in the recent past.
The Dodgers have been interested in Adames and even with Mookie Betts moving back to the infield, Adames would make sense in L.A. Other teams that could make a run at him include the Giants and Braves.
The Giants didn't want to pay Barkley, so their division rivals were happy to swoop in to add the playmaking running back. On Thursday, he made all the difference in a win over the Commanders.
The Commanders battled the Eagles hard but couldn’t generate much offense, fell way short on a pivotal fourth-down gamble and eventually fell to the Eagles.
