South Carolina football vs Ole Miss score prediction, scouting report for Week 6
COLUMBIA — South Carolina football kicks off October hosting No. 11 Ole Miss on Saturday in Williams-Brice Stadium (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
The Gamecocks (3-1, 1-1 SEC) are coming out of an open date, with their most recent win in Week 4 against Akron, 50-7. The Rebels (4-1, 0-1) picked up their first loss of the season in Week 5, falling 20-17 to Kentucky, and moved down from No. 5 to No. 11 in the coaches poll.
Here is what to know about the matchup:
Ole Miss offense, Jaxson Dart passing lead college football
Jaxson Dart's 1,815 passing yards are the most for any FBS quarterback this season.
Ole Miss is averaging 607.2 yards of total offense, which is No. 1 in the nation. The Rebels have the fastest offense in the SEC at 22.2 seconds per play.
Tre Harris is Dart's go-to target, with five touchdowns and 804 receiving yards on 14 catches. But Dart has depth and options, including receiver Cayden Lee and tight end Caden Prieskorn.
South Carolina is allowing an average of 160 passing yards per game, but it'll be the toughest task yet to try and cut down on Ole Miss' success downfield.
The return of Juice Wells, former South Carolina football receiver
Wide receiver Antwane L. "Juice" Wells, who transferred to Ole Miss from South Carolina after last season, returns to Columbia.
For the Rebels, Wells has 14 receptions for 274 yards with four touchdowns. In 2023 at South Carolina he was dealing with a foot injury and only played in three games. In 2022, he caught 68 passes for 928 yards with six touchdowns.
Will LaNorris Sellers, Rocket Sanders return from injury for South Carolina?
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers missed the Akron game and running back Rocket Sanders got hurt during the game, both with ankle injuries. South Carolina coach Shane Beamer said Tuesday both look good in practice.
Wide receivers Mazeo Bennett and Jared Brown are giving Sellers lots to work in the passing game, which strengthens Sellers' options on offense.
If Sellers has Sanders, the offense is in good shape and can run the ball if needed. If he is out, the run game will suffer.

South Carolina score prediction vs Ole Miss
Ole Miss 24, South Carolina 21: The Gamecocks beat Kentucky 31-6, but it's hard to think Ole Miss drops two games in a row, after getting upset by the Wildcats.
