South Carolina baseball No. 2 seed in Raleigh Regional of 2024 NCAA Tournament
COLUMBIA — South Carolina baseball is NCAA tournament bound for the third time in four years.
The Gamecocks (36-23) will be the No. 2 seed in the Raleigh Regional with No. 10 national seed NC State as the host team in a bracket with third-seeded James Madison and fourth-seeded Bryant. The Gamecocks will play James Madison (34-23) on Friday (2 p.m., ESPN+) and NC State (33-20) takes on Bryant on Friday (7 p.m., ESPN+).
South Carolina lost to LSU in extra innings in the SEC tournament semifinals.
South Carolina was eliminated in the super regional in Gainesville last year after going 3-0 in the regional in Columbia. This is the fourth time NCAA tournament under appearance coach Mark Kingston, who was hired in 2018.
Tournament play begins Friday, when the Gamecocks play the No. 3 seed Dukes (34-23) in a double-elimination game at 2 p.m. (ESPN+).
