'Slobbering Hog' logo set to return to mid-court for Arkansas basketball home games

Arkansas basketball's 'Slobbering Hog' logo will return to mid-court at Bud Walton Arena this season.

Arkansas basketball fans will experience a blast from the past at home games inside Bud Walton Arena this season.

The Razorbacks' official account on 'X' shared the return of the 'Slobbering Hog' at mid-court Wednesday afternoon.

The last time the logo graced the hardwood for Arkansas home games was 2008, and the image is widely associated with Nolan Richardson's great Arkansas teams over the head coach's 17-year run with the program.

On Oct. 2, Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek announced on social media that if Arkansas Edge could raise $500,000 by 5 p.m. Tuesday, the logo would return.

According to Yurachek, the school's official NIL collective achieved the goal thanks to a late, six-figure donation and money raised from a recent Justin Moore concert at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion. Moore told the 'Chuck and Bo' radio show on ESPN Arkansas that all proceeds from his concert would directly go to Arkansas Edge.

Arkansas head coach John Calipari confirmed last week that the Razorbacks will open their season at home against Lipscomb in a game the Bisons previously announced would take place on Nov. 6.
