Shakeup in starting lineup in secondary for LSU football vs Nicholls. See the changes here

BATON ROUGE — LSU football's secondary will likely have two first-time starters for its home opener versus Nicholls State inside Tiger Stadium on Saturday night (6:30 p.m. CT, ESPN+).

Redshirt freshman Kylin Jackson and true freshman Dashawn Spears are listed as the starters at both safety positions.

Jackson is starting in place of sophomore Jordan Allen, who LSU coach Brian Kelly said earlier this week was dealing with a bit of a turf toe injury coming out of the USC game Sunday. Allen officially hasn't been ruled out of the Nicholls and could still play.

Spears will start in place of junior Jardin Gilbert, who has to sit out the first half against Nicholls because of the targeting penalty he was assessed late in the fourth quarter last weekend.

LSU football will be without OL Garrett Dellinger

The Tigers will be without starting senior left guard Garrett Dellinger. The 6-foot-5, 322-pounded suffered a concussion this week in practice and was questionable to play, per Kelly.

In his place, Bo Bordelon will get his first career start.
