See where EA Sports 'College Football 25' ranks Memphis football's offense in upcoming game

How good will Memphis football's offense be in 2024?

Pretty good, if you ask the people behind EA Sports "College Football 25."

The Tigers were ranked as the No. 19 offense in the country as part of EA Sports' rankings, which were revealed Thursday morning. The reveal was part of a marketing rollout that includes details about the game and other rankings. The game — the first college football video game in more than a decade — is set to be released July 19.

Memphis was the only Group of Five offense ranked in the top 25. The Tigers' offense — with an 85 overall rating —slotted in just behind Texas A&M and just ahead of SMU. Georgia, Oregon, Alabama, Texas and Ohio State make up the top five.

Florida State, which will host Memphis on Sept. 14, was ranked No. 22.

The Tigers were sixth in the country in points per game in 2023, so it's not surprising to see them ranked as one of the top offenses. Quarterback Seth Henigan and top receiver Roc Taylor are back, and coach Ryan Silverfield added South Carolina's leading rusher Mario Anderson to replace running back Blake Watson. Memphis' high-powered offense undoubtedly will make the Tigers a popular team in the video game.

Henigan said earlier this year that he wants to be an 85 in the game. Player ratings haven't been released, but his offense has hit that mark.

“The difference between an 85 and an 84, to me, there’s a huge difference," Henigan said during spring practices. "Eighty-five rounds up to 90.”

The Tigers kick off their season when they host North Alabama on Aug. 31.
