Seahawks to wear throwbacks for Thursday Night Football vs 49ers
The best uniforms in the entire NFL will once again make an appearance this season. The Seattle Seahawks announced back in early July they were planning to wear the iconic royal blue throwbacks in Week 6 for Thursday Night Football. Now, they have made it official. On Thursday, the Seahawks will once again be feeling the 90's nostalgia.
The Seahawks have worn these threads once this year already, back in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Overall, Seattle has a record of 2-1 in the throwbacks. This will also be the second time the Seahawks have worn this combo on Thursday Night Football, as they did so last year in Dallas.
Unfortunately, this will likely be the last time the Seahawks wear their throwbacks this season. The NFL allows teams to wear alternates/throwbacks up to three times a year, and Seattle still has their all-Action Green alternates waiting to be worn.
However, Seattle won't be the only team on the field wearing their classic look from the 90's. The San Francisco 49ers will also have their all-white throwback uniforms, which look considerably worse than what the Seahawks will be wearing. Still, it will be fun to have a double-throwback game on prime time.
