Rylan Griffen injury update Saturday for Alabama basketball vs. Arkansas

Alabama basketball guard Rylan Griffen will be out for Saturday's game against Arkansas, per the Crimson Tide Sports Network pre-game radio show.

Griffen sustained a calf injury late in the game at Florida on Tuesday. Alabama coach Nate Oats said Friday that "the MRI results were a lot better than we feared they might be," but Griffen will not play against Arkansas.

Oats called the injury a calf strain and said Friday that Griffen was day-to-day.

Griffen will miss the final game of the regular season at Coleman Coliseum. With a win, Alabama will lock up a double-bye for the SEC Tournament, with seeding to be determined Saturday night.

This season, Griffen is averaging 11.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists over 26.3 minutes per game. He has been a regular in the starting lineup for the Crimson Tide in his second season with the program.
