Ryan Williams torches Western Kentucky for his first Alabama football TD

Ryan Williams might only be 17 years old, but the Alabama football freshman recorded his first career touchdown in a Crimson Tide uniform Saturday in the first quarter vs. Western Kentucky.

Jalen Milroe connected with Williams for an 84-yard touchdown, with Williams getting away from Western Kentucky defenders and running a go-route up the right side of the field. The touchdown put Alabama up 21-0 with 2:27 left in the first quarter.

Williams was listed as a backup to Kendrick Law on the Crimson Tide depth chart but quickly got onto the field.

Williams has some familiarity playing in Bryant-Denny Stadium, playing here last December in the AHSAA Super 7 championships when Saraland went up against Clay-Chalkville for the Class 6A state championship. Saraland ended up falling 31-28 to Clay-Chalkville, but it was a game that saw Williams dominate with 343 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns, including an 86-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
