According to a report by NBC Sports reporter Matt Maiocco, the San Francisco 49ers have the framework in place to trade wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk with a pair of teams. Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh Steelers are not one of the two teams.

The two teams Maiocco reported in the mix for Aiyuk are the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots. The two teams most mentioned connected to an Aiyuk trade were the Steelers and Washington Commanders. These were both teams that Aiyuk mentioned as teams he wanted to play for and there's been no word of the Patriots or Browns prior to this.

The Steelers started to reach out to the Niners about Aiyuk as far back as March according to reports. But this whole situation, should it play out as reported, it just goes to show what is out in the public doesn't always reflect what is happening behind the scenes.
