Nashville Predators trade for Chicago's Anthony Beauvillier
Confirming an earlier report, the Nashville Predators have traded for forward Anthony Beauvillier, a move that comes after sending forward Yakov Trenin to the Colorado Avalanche.
The Predators are sending their 2024 fifth-round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks in the deal.

Anthony Beauvillier will likely occupy Yakov Trenin's spot in the lineup, though his skill set is considerably different. While Trenin brings size and physicality to the lineup, Beauvillier offers more speed and skill.
Both players are from the 2015 draft class, and both are due contracts this summer, though Beauvillier's is likely to be more expensive.
Also, Beauvillier is a player familiar to Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz, who said this week he's leaning towards buying at the deadline.
Beauvillier is a 26-year-old forward who was drafted in the first round by the New York Islanders in 2015, where he played under then head coach Barry Trotz. He put up a career-high 40 points in 2022-23 for the New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks.
Chicago acquired Beauvillier from Vancouver earlier this season for a conditional fifth-round pick. He's played 45 games this year, scoring four goals and 10 assists.
Beauvillier is in the final year of a three-year, $12.45 million deal and will become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
