RB Jordan Mason status unchanged in 49ers' 2nd Week 7 practice
There wasn't much news on the San Francisco 49ers' Thursday practice participation report, although there were a couple of minor changes from Wednesday's session.
Running back Jordan Mason's status is unchanged while he works through an AC joint sprain in his shoulder. He was limited again Thursday after a limited practice Wednesday. While a full participation would be ideal, no setbacks from a limited session is a good sign. Friday will provide a better look at his potential availability for Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Here's what Thursday's participation report looked like:
Did not participate
WR Jauan Jennings (hip)
K Matthew Wright (shoulder, back)
K Jake Moody (ankle)
DT Kevin Givens (groin)
Givens is a new addition here after not showing up on Wednesday's report. Going from a full participant to a non-participant in the middle of the week generally isn't a great sign. There's a chance the 49ers are just being cautious given some of their depth problems up front though. Jennings is working through a hip injury he suffered in Week 6. Any player missing Wednesday and Thursday aren't typically in a good spot come Sunday.
Limited participation
DT Jordan Elliott (knee)
DT Maliek Collins (knee)
CB Darrell Luter (pelvis)
RB Jordan Mason (shoulder)
S Malik Mustapha (ankle)
WR Deebo Samuel (wrist)
Collins was a non-participant Wednesday, so his return as a limited participant Thursday is a plus. No setbacks across the board puts every player here on a potential track to return Sunday.
Full particiapation
LT Trent Williams (not injury related - resting player)
DE Leonard Floyd (not injury related - resting player)
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf)
WR Ricky Pearsall (chest)
CB Charvarius Ward (knee)
More good news with no setbacks here. Pearsall's role remains unclear, but back-to-back days of full practice is a great sign.
