Look: Predators' Filip Forsberg scores goal against Matt Duchene's son in living room

Filip Forsberg hooked his hockey stick right, then left, then between his legs before he scored his first goal of the Nashville Predators' one-off road trip to Dallas to face the Stars.

He did it Thursday, a day before the game.

Forsberg, the Predators' all-time leading goal scorer, and Duchene, who holds the franchise's single-season record for goals, reunited Thursday at Duchene's home in Texas.

"We invited the biggest kid we know over for some mini sticks," Duchene wrote in an Instagram story he posted Thursday night.

Forsberg scored the goal after making a save against Beau.

Forsberg, who was selected to this year's All-Star Game, spent four seasons playing alongside Duchene with Nashville. Both broke the franchise season record for goals in 2021-22, when Duchene edged Forsberg 43 goals to 42.

The Predators bought out the remainder of Duchene's seven-year, $56 million contract last summer. He had 84 goals and 113 assists in 249 games with the Predators. Shortly after that, the Dallas Stars signed the free agent to a one-year, $3 million deal.

He originally signed with the Predators before the 2019-20 season.

Duchene's buyout will cost the Predators $19,333,336 in salary-cap hits spread out over the next six seasons.

The Stars are third in the Central Division with a record of 24-11-5, while the Predators are eight points behind in fourth at 22-18-1.
