Predators' Filip Forsberg, mustache picked by Justin Bieber's team at NHL All-Star Game
Nashville Predators forward Filip Forsberg and his mustache gave Justin Bieber a hug Thursday night.
The embrace was the result of the 11th pick in the 2012 NHL Draft being the 26th pick of the 2024 All-Star Game draft in Toronto.
Forsberg was selected by team captain Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
"We know who we're going to pick," Matthews said. "He has the best mustache in the NHL; I quite envy it. From the Nashville Predators, Filip Forsberg."
"That is a lip sweater," the PA announcer said. "Prodigious muzzie. Another finisher."
Forsberg earned his second All-Star Game selection this season. The leading goal scorer in franchise history is the only Predator in this year's All-Star weekend.
Bieber is the honorary celebrity captain of Team Matthews, which also features William Nylander, Mitch Marner, Jake Oettinger, Clayton Keller, Mathew Barzal, Igor Shesterkin, Forsberg, Alex DeBrincat and Vincent Trocheck.
The Tampa Bay Lightning's Nikita Kucherov was the first overall pick.
Four teams consisting of 11 players will participate in a 3-on-3 tournament Saturday. Game begin at 2 p.m. CT and will be aired on ABC.
Forsberg has a team-best 24 goals to go with 27 assists for a team-high 51 points this season. He is on pace to at least come close to having a career year in both categories.
