Point spreads set for every NFL game in 2024, but are Dolphins fans actually buying this?

Get ready for a 10-7 season in which the Dolphins finish third in their division but make the playoffs as a wild-card entry amid another late-season skid.

So says betonline.ag, which published point spreads for every NFL game of the 2024 season Wednesday.

The service sees the New York Jets, at 14-3, winning the AFC East, in the shocking, unprecedented and unlikely event that favorites win every game in 2024. Buffalo (11-6) would finish second. At 1-16, New England is rated a distant last.

The good news for Dolphins fans who put a lot of stock in this: The service favors the Dolphins by 3½ points in the opener against visiting Jacksonville to trigger a 7-0 start. Miami also is favored in each of its eight home games except for Dec. 22 vs. the 49ers.

The bad news will sound familiar. Miami is projected to go 3-6 on the road, winning only at Seattle, New England and Indianapolis early before losing on six consecutive road trips. Worse, the Dolphins are projected to lose seven of their final 10 games, five of their final six and all of their final four.

Games in which the Dolphins are favored: vs. Jacksonville, vs. Buffalo, at Seattle, vs. Tennessee, at New England, at Indianapolis, vs. Arizona, vs. Las Vegas, vs. New England, vs. the Jets.

The Dolphins are underdogs at Buffalo, at the Rams, at Green Bay, at Houston, home vs. San Francisco, at Cleveland, at the Jets.

The biggest spread of any Dolphins game puts them as 8-point favorites at home vs. the Patriots.

Broadening the scope, the other division winners are expected to be Baltimore or Cincinnati (both 14-3), Houston (11-6), Kansas City (15-2) in the AFC. In the NFC: Dallas (14-3), Detroit (13-4), Atlanta (13-4) and San Francisco (17-0). The wild-card teams are projected to be Baltimore or Cincinnati, Buffalo, Miami, Philadelphia, Green Bay and the Rams.

Yes, the 49ers are favored in every game. On the flip side, Carolina is an underdog each week except for a pick-‘em home game vs. New Orleans.
