Phillies' Opening Day game vs Braves postponed due to weather forecast; Here's the makeup date
The Phillies have opted for sunshine instead of a possible soaking.
Thursday afternoon’s scheduled 2024 season opener vs. the Atlanta Braves has been postponed and moved to Friday, which is kept open just for inclement weather situations such as this.
The Phillies and the Braves will play at 3:05 p.m. Friday to open a 3-game series.

No doubt, the expected sellout crowd will joyfully remind the visitors that the Phillies handed the NL East champs their second straight ouster last year in the National Division Series.
Of course, the home fans will also be hoping to have their spirits lifted after the Phillies lost the final two games of the 2023 National League Championship Series at home to Arizona and watched the Diamondbacks go off to the World Series.
