Patrick Schulte, Aidan Morris receive USMNT U-23 callups ahead of Olympic roster decisions

Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte and midfielder Aidan Morris have received one final call-up to the United States U-23 men's national team before the 2024 Paris Olympic roster is decided.

The camp will consist of 25 players, and the team will compete in a friendly against Japan on Tuesday, June 11 in Kansas City. At some point following the friendly, USMNT U-23 coach Marko Mitrovic has to cut the roster to 18 players, who will go on to represent the United States in the Olympics.

Schulte and Morris will report to training camp during the MLS international break, which is after the Crew's CONCACAF Champions Cup final Saturday, ensuring they will be available for the title match.

Both Schulte and Morris received invites to the USMNT senior training camp in January alongside Crew midfielder Sean Zawadzki. Zawadzki, born in 2000, is ineligible for the Olympic team as players must be born on or after Jan. 1, 2001, unless they are one of the selected "overage" players.

And back in March, Schulte and Morris were called up to the U-23 March training camp, earning a spot in the starting lineup in the friendly against France on March 22.

Men's soccer at the 2024 Paris Olympics will kick off July 24 and runs through the gold medal match on August 9.
