It seems as though the latest version of the Carolina Panthers offense got itself a solid week of work heading into their debut.

On Sunday, the team will roll out quarterback Andy Dalton under center—going ahead with their sudden switch from previous starter and 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young. Head coach Dave Canales was asked how the unit has looked at practice with the 14th-year veteran now at the helm.

"Practice looks sharp," he stated. "Just constant communication. He's talkin' to guys, which is just a continuation of building our concepts, building our team and finding our identity."

Carolina's offense hasn't had much of an identity in recent years. This particular one has gotten off to a particularly disappointing start, as they've scored just one touchdown and converted on only two of their 22 third-down attempts through two games.

Much of that disappointment stems from the performance of Young, who was expected to take a leap here in his sophomore campaign. But through these first two weeks, he's passed for 245 yards and three interceptions.

Dalton will now get his second start as a member of the Panthers this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders. His first came in last year's Week 3 visit to Seattle, where he tossed for 361 yards (the most by a Carolina quarterback in 2023) and two scores.
