Pacers finalizing deal for Toronto Raptors All-Star forward Pascal Siakam

The Indiana Pacers are finalizing a deal for Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam that would send Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora and three first-round picks to Toronto, according to two people with knowledge of the situation.

The New Orleans Pelicans will be a third team in the deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors. The Pelicans will also send a second-round pick to Indiana and will receive cash considerations.

Siakam's four-year, $136.9 million contract with the Raptors was set to expire after this season, and he had shown little interest in re-signing.

He won a title with the Raptors in 2019, was rewarded with a lucrative deal and is now seeking one more max (or near-max) contract. Siakam, 29, averages 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists and shoots 52.2% from the field.

The Pacers are 23-17 in the Eastern Conference, eight games behind the first-place Boston Celtics but just one game from fourth place. This deal will pair Siakam with All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton who is out at least another week with a strained left hamstring. Haliburton averages 23.6 points and a league-best 12.5 assists, and he’s shooting 49.7% from the field and 40.3% on 3-pointers.
