'That one had some sting on it': Social media reaction to Brewers' crushing playoff loss
Many playoff losses are tough.
Some hurt more than others.
But for many Brewers fans, there isn't going to be any elixir available to cure this piercing postseason pain.
Just two outs from a Game 3 deciding victory over the New York Mets thanks to back-to-back home runs from Jake Bauers and Sal Frelick in the seventh inning, the Brewers looked to be headed to the National League Division series in Philadelphia.

Bauers destroyed a hanging 3-2 changeup from Jose Butto. Frelick ambushed a fastball on the next pitch.
True fan eruption.
It was party time.
But Mets first baseman Pete Alonso delivered the coldest of blows to any Milwaukee champagne celebration in the top of the ninth inning. His three-run homer off Brewers closer Devin Williams shockingly put Milwaukee's postseason expectations back in a deep freeze.
Williams had blown the lead after two unlikely heroes appeared to have prolonged this magical season. The Brewers were abruptly eliminated by the Mets.
A somber Bob Uecker summed up the soul-crushing 4-2 loss best on the Brewers' radio broadcast.
Legendary Brewers broadcaster Bob Uecker has seen a lot of baseball.
The 90-year-old couldn't hide his dismay on the call as Milwaukee's season ended in crushing fashion.

this is only the 7th HR Devin Williams has allowed to a right-handed hitter in the big leagues -- and the first to the opposite-field

It's been 57 days since Devin Williams last allowed a home run; only the second he's allowed all year.

Before tonight, Devin Williams had entered 243 games in his career. In just 2 of them did he allow 4 or more runs. In one of the biggest innings of his life, he allows 4 runs and the blown save.
