OKC Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren remain in hunt for NBA All-Star spots
The second fan vote returns for the 2024 NBA All-Star game were released Thursday, and a pair of OKC Thunder players remain in the top 10 in their respective position group in the Western Conference.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is third among Western Conference guards with 1,763,671 votes, while Chet Holmgren is ninth among the conference’s frontcourt players with 329,154. They were in the same spots last week.
Gilgeous-Alexander, who is in his sixth NBA season, is averaging 31.4 points, 6.4 assists, 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game this season.
Holmgren was taken with the second pick of the 2022 draft but missed all of last season with a Lisfranc fracture in his foot. He’s averaging 17.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game this season.
Fans account for 50% of the vote that decides the All-Star starters, while players and media account for the other 50%.
The next round of voting will be revealed next Thursday, and voting will conclude at 10:59 p.m. on Jan. 20. The starters will be announced on Jan. 25.
The All-Star game is set for Feb. 18 in Indianapolis.
