Observations from Auburn football practice: Key player back, NFL personnel on campus

AUBURN — Preseason practices are continuing for Auburn football, and reporters were given about 20 minutes to watch Tuesday.

From player participation to a couple players standing out for the Tigers, here are a few of our biggest observations:

  • Senior tight end Rivaldo Fairweather was out there working as usual. He wasn't present during the last media viewing Friday, but all seems well. He didn't have any noticeable ailments, and he wasn't wearing a non-contact jersey.

  • Redshirt freshman Bradyn Joiner was getting some work at center while the quarterbacks fielded snaps and threw to receivers against air. Other centers snapping alongside Joiner, who didn't appear in a game last season, were Connor Lew and Tate Johnson.

  • Transfer defensive lineman Gage Keys (Kansas) wasn't working with the team during the portion of practice open to reporters. He was using an exercise bike inside the facility. Senior cornerback Keionte Scott also wasn't with the rest of the team, but he was spotted inside the practice facility wearing pads.

  • Redshirt freshman cornerback JC Hart, who has generated a good bit of hype this preseason, was wearing a non-contact jersey. Fellow defensive backs Kayin Lee and Champ Anthony were asked Monday which of their teammates had improved most from the spring, and both of them said Hart.

  • The receivers continue to look noticeably improved from last season. It's no surprise to say this, but freshmen Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson are the most physically impressive. Penn State transfer KeAndre Lambert-Smith (Penn State) is more filled out than many thought he would when he joined the Tigers through the portal.

  • Personnel from the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Jacksonville Jaguars, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers were seen at practice.
