Traditional cup win celebrations have apparently grown stale.

So when Lokomotiv Moscow was about to win the final of the Russian Cup 2-0 over Ural Yekaterinburg, it celebrated with a big brawl in which four players were ejected – two from each side.

In injury time, with Lokomotiv all but certain of the trophy, a fight broke out right by the referee.

The game, played to a sparse crown in Sochi at the Olympic Stadium, ended with just 18 players on the field, per the Associated Press. Igor Denisov and Alexei Miranchuk had scored for Lokomotiv in the 76th and 90th minutes, respectively. And that’s when an argument arose between Ural’s Artem Fidler and Edgar Manucharyan and Lokomotiv’s Jefferson Farfan and Ari. All of them were eventually sent off.

And then Lokomotiv set about celebrating their second cup victory in two years, as two ushers in traditional garb stood beside the big trophy looking befuddled.

Strange and haunting scenes out of Russia.
