After being waived by the Philadelphia 76ers, forward JaKarr Sampson is finalizing a two-year contract with the Denver Nuggets, Sampson’s agent, Seth Cohen, confirmed to The Vertical.

The 76ers released Sampson to create roster space for the acquisition of Joel Anthony, yet the franchise had held out hope of re-signing Sampson. Sampson’s deal with Denver will be non-guaranteed in the second year.

Sampson, a 6-foot-9 forward, has averaged 5.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 121 games for the 76ers from 2014-16. He went undrafted out of St. John’s in 2014.
