Is there a NASCAR race today? A look at the NASCAR TV schedule this week for Phoenix
It's time to pump the brakes on the NASCAR schedule. Literally speaking.
After three straight weeks of high-speed racetracks, including last week at Las Vegas, NASCAR will finally shorten and slow things a bit as it takes to Phoenix Raceway this weekend, a 1-mile, low-banked, tri-oval that sure carries all the characteristics of a short track. Events in the Cup, Xfinity and ARCA Menards Series are slated to take place starting with ARCA's General Tire 150 on Friday night.
The last time NASCAR went to Phoenix, Ross Chastain came away a winner but Ryan Blaney claimed the big prize, winning his first championship in November. There will be no titles on the line on Sunday, but there will be a trophy, some points and automatic entry into the playoffs for the winner.
