Morgan Freeman sat courtside for Ole Miss basketball vs MSU. Why Lane Kiffin gave him a shoutout

OXFORD ― Actor and filmmaker Morgan Freeman is in attendance for Ole Miss basketball's Tuesday night rivalry matchup against Mississippi State, and Rebels football coach Lane Kiffin approved of his choice of attire.

Freeman, seated courtside, showed up in a blue hoodie labeled with the hashtag "Come To The Sip," a common recruiting slogan used by Kiffin and other coaches on campus.

Kiffin made sure to point out Freeman's choice of clothing on social media.

"Hoodie!!!" Kiffin wrote, sharing a photo of Freeman.

Freeman, 86, grew up in Charleston, Mississippi.

He is a frequent presence at Ole Miss basketball games, and Rebels athletic events in general.

Freeman couldn't have picked a much more intriguing game to attend. On top of the standard rivalry implications, the Rebels (17-3, 4-3 SEC) and Bulldogs (14-6, 3-4) are both firmly in contention for the NCAA Tournament.
