Jose Ramirez named to 2024 All-Star Game as a starter

This will be Ramirez's sixth All-Star appearance and his fourth in a row, and it'll be his third time in the starting lineup.

Ramirez's 3.1 fWAR ranks sixth in the AL overall and is first among AL third baseman. Entering Wednesday's game, he was hitting .276 with a .329 on-base percentage, 23 home runs, 17 doubles, 76 RBIs, 65 runs scored and 15 stolen bases.

It was down to Ramirez or Baltimore's Jordan Westburg. Ramirez received 60 percent of the vote.

Steven Kwan named to first All-Star Game as a starter in 2024

This will be Kwan's first All-Star appearance. When healthy, he has been the game's best leadoff hitter. He's had an outstanding season and entered Wednesday leading the majors with a .362 batting average to go with a .420 on-base percentage, seven home runs, 13 doubles, 24 RBIs, 49 runs scored and four stolen bases in 57 games.

A few weeks ago, Kwan was chasing a .400 average. Although he's fallen off that pace a bit, he has been one of the most valuable outfielders in baseball this season.

Among AL outfielders, Kwan's 3.5 fWAR ranks fourth, and he's accumulated it while missing nearly a month with a hamstring injury.

Among AL outfielders, Kwan received 28 percent of the vote, just ahead of Baltimore's Anthony Santander's 26 percent.
