Baseball fans will have another viewing option at MLB spring training venues in Arizona and Florida during the Cactus League and Grapefruit League this season.

In addition to the normal Major League Baseball spring training competition, stadiums will hold a spring training event called the MLB Spring Breakout next month.

Here's what to know about the Minor League Baseball Spring Training Prospect Showcase in 2024, which will have 16 exhibition games during the event, with eight of them at Cactus League ballparks.

What is the MLB Spring Breakout?

The Spring Breakout is a four-day event during the Cactus League and Grapefruit League with games involving each MLB franchise's top prospects.

When is the MLB Spring Breakout?

The showcase will be held March 14-17, 2024 at various Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums. Many of the games will be paired with a Major League game as a traditional doubleheader.

Who will participate in the MLB Spring Breakout?

Every MLB team will create a team with 20-25 of their best prospects in the minor leagues to play in the showcase and they will play a game against another MLB team's best prospects.

Each team will play at least one seven-inning game in the showcase. Rosters will be announced closer to the event.

According to MLB, prospects are eligible to play regardless of previous minor-league level or experience.
