MLB postseason predictions: Who we think will win the World Series

Here we are again — October, the postseason, the time of the year that everything gets real. What’s going to happen over the next month? If baseball were predictable, its fans would probably have more hair.

Alas, October baseball is anything but predictable. Still, we don’t back away from trying. As we do every year, the Yahoo Sports MLB crew is here to offer you our predictions for each round of the postseason now that we’re about the start the League Division Series round. That’s the New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians vs. Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies vs. Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Dodgers.

We’re picking winners for each series, plus the ALCS, NLCS and World Series, as well as breakout stars, disappointing teams and surprise heroes. This time around, our prediction panel includes MLB columnists Jeff Passan and Tim Brown plus MLB writers Mike Oz, Chris Cwik, Liz Roscher and Mark Townsend. In something that shouldn’t be a surprise, everybody likes an American League team to win it all. We just don’t agree on which American League team.

Here are our picks:
